While our on-site facilities are perfect for your special occasion you may still want to venture out to explore a local pub. There are several pubs not too far from Boglands where you can listen to live music, dance, and have a great night chatting with the locals.
These pubs are well run, and are very welcoming to Groups from Boglands. Contact Us for an updated cost for a return bus to a local venue. You pay the driver directly.
Let us know when you book if you want to go to the pub/disco and we will organise that for you at no extra cost. You pay the driver on the night.
There is a local bus company that may be able to collect you from your home location to bring you here and back.

The Crannog
The Crannog
The old rustic Crannog is situated near the campfire at Boglands Hideaway.
The Crannog is used for Silent Discos. It is set up so your group can utilise it instead of heading to a pub, or a nightclub.
Why have Silent Discos?
There are neighbors to consider, and we have noise restrictions. The Silent Disco solves this.
It is just another option for groups who may prefer to stay on site for the night.
As we cannot have loud music then the Silent Disco is a compromise.
What is the process?
If you have decided to stay on site and would like to use the Crannog there is a €5pp charge per night for the Silent Disco equipment.
You must supply your own music, either with your phone (Spotify etc) or your Ipod (via Bluetooth).
The Crannog is available from 9pm until 2am.
You can decide on the Day/Night of arrival whether or not to avail of this option.
Minimum Per Person Hire
There is a minimum hire of:
15 people on Saturday Night Parties.
10 people on Friday Night Parties.
Any damaged or lost equipment will be charged for.
Can the Crannog be used for other purposes?
The Crannog is set up and dedicated to Silent Discos.
It is impractical to be using it for any other purpose.

What is a good time to be collected to go to the pub?
9:30 pm is a good time to be collected. By the time you load up and get going you can be at the pub by 9:45(ish).
How do we pay for the bus?
You can pay the driver of the bus. Cash is the preferred option.
How do we book a bus?

If you prefer us to book the bus for you just ask.
If you prefer to find a bus service yourself that is not a problem.
Is there music in the pubs?
Yes. We reccomend The Blackthorn. The locals are very friendly and are always up for a good time.
Is there a nightclub nearby?
There are several nightclubs in Tullamore, and in Mullingar. the distance is 30 minutes plus to travel to these locations. Most groups staying at Boglands prefer to go to a local establishment if they do decide to leave site. The Local Pub/Disco is much handier, and better.

Contact us for recommendations. We try to keep track of where the music is and where the fun is. We have mainly sent groups to The Blackthorn, Daingean.
